Professor Vladimer Papava is a Senior Fellow at the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies. He is an author of more than 200 works devoted to the problems of economic theory, macroeconomics, and economic/mathematical modeling, most notably, his study of economic transformation in post-Communist countries. His research is complemented by a unique practical experience. In 1994-2000 as a Minister of Economy, he was actively involved in a fiscal reform, complete liberalization of a wheat market, institutional reform and etc. As a member of Georgian government, he was one of the leading participants in the negotiations with the IMF and World Bank.
He is a Member of the Parliament of Georgia and a member of Georgian Academy of Sciences.
