Andrei Zagorski

Leading Researcher and Professor, Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Moscow

Andrei Zagorski is a well-known expert on European security, relations between Russia and NATO, and relations between Russia and European Organizations (OBSE, EU, European Council). In 1981 Andrei graduated from Moscow State University of International Relations (MGIMO) with a major in “international relations.” In 1985 he defended his doctoral thesis in Political Sciences at MGIMO. From 1981 to 1992 he was a full-time researcher at the Center for International Studies of MGIMO. From 1992 to1999 he was a Vice-Rector of MGIMO. From 1999 to 2000 he was a Senior Vice President of the EastWest Institute (EWI), in Prague. In 2001 he served as Director of the project Networking of the Early Warning Systems of the EWI. Since 2002 he has been a Professor at the Geneva Center for Security Policy.
